Great theater never dies – not even during a pandemic. While the COVID crisis may be keeping most stages dark, it hasn’t darkened talent, or ingenuity; which is definitely the case with Richardson Theatre Centre. We're not about to let a virus keep us from providing our North Texas fans & family with top-notch entertainment. To paraphrase an old saying: if the audience can’t come to the theatre – then the theatre will go to the audience! That’s why we've launched "Theatre of the Imagination”; a new, online series of music, songs, and short vignettes, featuring some of the finest in local talent. It’s an offshoot of our recent – and hugely successful – “old-time radio” fundraiser, and features a musical selection, followed by a 10-20 minute vignette, which range from classic radio mysteries (Buck Rogers, The Adventures of Sam Spade) to original dramas, comedies, and even supernatural thrillers, each complete with authentic commercials! RTC is debuting the series as part of an extensive “makeover”, which also includes a major renovation of our theater’s auditorium on Arapaho Rd.
